The above photo is of a street parade in the town of Montello Wisconsin on August 2nd, 1911. As the yellow oval indicates, Patricia can clearly be seen participating. How does she do that? That must be one unusual bike she is riding.

Comments from Patricia

Good Day To All,

We had another beautiful day "weather-wise"--I'm still wearing a wind breaker at noon, can you believe that?

So, you can see it was gorgeous riding weather. I saw at least half of the scenery today and it is beautiful here.

Lots of farming and all kinds of animals including peacocks and huge barns of turkeys--Happy Thanksgiving for someone!

The early miles were spent on country roads and the riding is superb as you can ride and sight-see at the same time.

The other 40 miles were another story as we were on a very busy highway--CR23 and that is not any fun.

We've had very few nice shoulders to ride on here in Wisconsin even though everything else is very nice.

Today, we rode on a 2 foot piece of asphalt on the right side of the white line. That puts you only a few feet from the traffic whizzing by on your left and the option of flipping over in real soft gravel on the right so you only look at that little band that you have to stay on, no sightseeing at all  One little waver of your bicycle and you're in big trouble either way.

We had such a wonderful riding situation yesterday (except going into the city) so you just have to accept whatever is there.

Love,

Patricia
