Comments from Patricia Hi All. Today it was raining cats and dogs when we came out from breakfast and we were having a pretty good lightning show. A few people took off right away and the rest of us just tried to sneak out between downpours. It did rain pretty good most of the morning but then cleared up so we had a nice afternoon. We got so wet inside and out but it wasn't cold so when the sun comes out we just start peeling extra clothes off and dry out on the road. The days are not as long here in NY (no 100 milers) but with a few detours thrown in we get up to almost 90 miles anyway so that's still a lot of pedaling. Gabriel was going to ride today but the extra bike was needed by someone else (I'm sure his heart was broken when the rain storms hit) Ha!!!! He has to spend the day in the Sag wagon to get to the next destination so the day gets kind of long just checking on all the little "chickens" to see that everyone in accounted for. Bye for now--it's bedtime. I sure haven't been sleeping very well. I keep waking up thinking of special things I had in the big suitcase in the van. I was thinking about the beautiful blue silky shawl that Bea and George had brought me from Europe. Gabriel did talk to the towing company in Canada and they did verify there was nothing left in the van--they said it had been so hot that the engine cover melted right on the engine--what scumballs! There's karma somewhere down the line for people who do such despicable things Bye for now--Love, Patricia |
