Hi Everyone,

This wasn't an easy day but thank goodness I made it--the riding was good but it was 84 miles and I sure do have a sore leg where the handlebar gave me a "noogie" I think it is called.

The good news is that once my leg is in place and pedaling, it doesn't hurt as much but it screams when I"m getting on and off the bike or walking and stairs are almost impossible.

I really iced everything down good last night; found some more scrapes on my arm when I took my shirt off and redressed the scratches and cuts--I looked real cute yesterday.

Didn't know if I could pedal this morning until I got out of bed and got moving. That'll teach me to be a better driver!! Amazing after all the hard stuff we've had to do and I had to go and run into a railing all by myself!!  At least I didn't hurt anyone else.

We've got four long days ahead of us--not so much mileage although tomorrow has been increased by 13 miles so that is at least an extra hour for my speed--then we have two climbing days that are killers and I won't have my own sag with me as he will be riding in the sag himself so I'll just inch up those mountains on my own.

You all know by now that there is no way I'm going to give up. As of today, we've pedaled 3,325 miles--that sounds really crazy but it's true.It took us 18 miles to get out of Syracuse this morning--what a busy place.  Then we got to ride in the country most of the rest of the time and that is always nice--we cycled through a lot of small towns.  Gabriel has been amazed the amount of small towns in upper New York State that seem to be pretty much poverty stricken.

He's pretty frustrated that he can't take many pictures as he's not the driver anymore--he's just the passenger in the sag.  He talked to someone on the main drag here like a State Street in Santa Barbara and found out that they pay only $400 for a place of business that is about 10 times the size of our motel room.   Some rain on us but nothing heavy so we lucked out today as the New Yorkers say it has been raining every day

Bye for now--Bedtime--Love, Patricia
